Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Quebec

MAPAQ's primary mission is to support and promote Quebec food processing industry in order to ensure a long-term provincial sustainable development. Thus, the ministry plays a key role in a variety of fields of the agri-food sector including, but not limited to, production, processing, distribution, marketing and consumption.

The ministry ensures both the set-up and the implementation of policies and programs that are necessary to the expansion of the sector.

In order to control the fast-growing development of food quality labels, the MAPAQ has entrusted the CARTV with the management of Quebec agri-food appellations monitoring system under the Act Respecting Reserved Designations (A 20.02).
