Designations Envisaged in Quebec

Quebec's Act Respecting Reserved Designation's envisages four categories of reserved designations:

Regardless of the type of food involved, a reserved designation system can be perfectly adapted to protect the designation a product has been granted, whether it be: meat, deli products, milk and dairy products, eggs, honey, fruit, vegetable and foodstuff, vegetable and animal fats, fish, seafood, shellfish, spices, bakery, pastry and confectionery products, drinks made from plant extracts, beer, chocolate, pasta products, prepared dishes, sauces and condiments, soups, ice creams and sorbets, wines and vinegars, etc.
