7. SC intermediate evaluation stages

To ensure that an initial proposed application for a reserved designation is in the public interest and does not give rise to any major objections, all proposals are the subjects of public consultations involving all the parties concerned.

At this stage, the SC shall review the expert report to ensure that the information contained in the file corresponds to the reality and that it is supported by proof or standards that will make it possible to appropriately verify the requirements set out in the specification manual. The committee shall determine whether the proposed application is ready to be submitted for public consultation, or whether other questions or requests must be sent to the applicant organization before public consultation begins.

At the same time, the Committee reviews the labelling model corresponding to the final proposed specification manual submitted for recognition. Validation of the labelling model is part of the notice sent by the Committee. This validation focuses on compliance with the regulations for using the official mark logo registered by the CARTV and does not consider compliance with general labelling regulations.
